Why Biggoron's Sword is the Ultimate Weapon

In *The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time*, Link draws the sacred Master Sword from the Temple of Time. While the Master Sword is legendary, it deals baseline damage. The Biggoron's Sword, forged by the giant Goron craftsman atop Death Mountain, deals 2x Master Sword damage (the same as a charged jump slash on every single normal swing) and will never break (unlike the fragile Giant's Knife sold by Medigoron for 200 Rupees).

Equipping Biggoron's Sword allows you to defeat Stalfos in two slashes, eliminate Iron Knuckles in three hits, and crush Ganon with minimal effort.

Complete 11-Step Timed Trading Quest Walkthrough

The quest must be completed as Adult Link after obtaining Epona from Lon Lon Ranch:

Step 1: Pocket Egg

Talk to the Cucco lady in Kakariko Village. She gives you a Pocket Egg. Wait until night passes (play the Sun's Song) and the egg hatches into a Pocket Cucco.

Step 2: Wake Up Talon

Take the hatched Pocket Cucco into the house in Kakariko Village where Talon is sleeping. The rooster will crow and wake him up. Return to the Cucco lady, who rewards you with her brother's blue rooster, Cojiro.

Step 3: Cojiro & The Odd Mushroom

Enter the Lost Woods (take the first left from the entrance). You will find a pale, silent young man sitting on a log. Present Cojiro to him. He recognizes the rooster and asks you to deliver the Odd Mushroom to the potion witch in Kakariko Village.

• •Timer Starts: You have 3 real-time minutes to deliver the mushroom before it spoils!

Step 4: The 3-Minute Sprint to Granny's Potion Shop

• •Immediately exit the Lost Woods, ride Epona across Hyrule Field to Kakariko Village.
• •Enter the regular potion shop, go out the back door, climb the ladder, and enter Granny's Secret Potion Shop.
• •Hand the Odd Mushroom to the witch to receive the Odd Potion.

Step 5: The Poacher's Saw

Return to the Lost Woods where the young man was sitting. He has disappeared! In his place is a Kokiri girl who demands the Odd Potion. In exchange, she gives you the Poacher's Saw.

Step 6: King Zora & The Broken Goron's Sword

Travel to Gerudo Valley. Cross the broken bridge using the Longshot or Epona. Give the Poacher's Saw to the master carpenter standing outside the tent. He gives you the Broken Goron's Sword.

Step 7: Biggoron on Death Mountain

Climb to the summit of Death Mountain. Speak to the colossal giant Biggoron sitting next to the fairy fountain. He agrees to forge you a new blade, but his eyes are irritated by the volcanic eruption. He gives you the Prescription for eyedrops.

Step 8: King Zora's Eyeball Frog

Travel to Zora's Domain and speak with King Zora. He has no eyedrops, but gives you an Eyeball Frog to deliver to the scientist at the Lake Hylia Laboratory.

• •Timer Starts: You have 3 minutes to transport the frog before it goes bad!
• •Route: Hop on Epona, gallop straight southwest across Hyrule Field, jump the fences into Lake Hylia, and enter the laboratory.

Step 9: The World's Coldest Eyedrops

Hand the frog to the scientist. He brews the World's Coldest Eyedrops.

• •The Final 4-Minute Timer: You have 4 minutes to ride all the way from Lake Hylia to the top of Death Mountain!
• •Optimal Route:

1. 1.Jump on Epona and gallop northeast toward Kakariko Village.
2. 2.Discard Epona at the village stairs and sprint through the mountain trail.
3. 3.Avoid falling boulders and climb the tall rock face.
4. 4.Hand the eyedrops to Biggoron before the countdown reaches zero!

Step 10: The Claim Check & The Blade

Relieved of his eye pain, Biggoron hands you the Claim Check. Play the Sun's Song to advance the time forward by 3 full days. Speak with Biggoron once more to receive the magnificent, unbreakable Biggoron's Sword!

Essential Heart Piece & Great Fairy Fountain Locations

1. 1.Double Defense Upgrade: Outside Ganon's Castle, lift the giant black monolith with the Golden Gauntlets to reveal the Great Fairy of Courage who halves all incoming damage.
2. 2.Double Magic Meter: At Death Mountain Crater, smash the red boulders near the entrance to unlock the Great Fairy of Magic.
3. 3.Gerudo Archery Range (1,500 pts): Mount Epona and score 1,500 points in the horseback archery contest to earn a full Heart Container piece.
4. 4.Fishing Pond 10-Pounder: Catch a 10+ pound fish at the Lake Hylia fishing hole to claim a Heart Piece from the fisherman.
